Deck Repair and Resurfacing in Bismarck

Project: Deck Repair Includes Stacking the (Old) Deck

Deck repair and resurfacing offers new, affordable life for old, worn decks

These homeowners were ready for a new deck and the existing one had seen better days. After assessing the condition of the deck and supports, I recommended repair and resurfacing as a cost-effective update. While a number of the deck boards were rotted and needed replacing, the overall structure was sound, including underlying joists. UltraDeck QuickCap Resurfacing material from Menards provided the option to install new surface boards over the current structure.

The deck repair process began with removing rotted boards at the joists to allow for attachment of each end of new AC2 pressure-treated boards for support. The QuickCap composite material is then placed over the old deck boards and new replacement green-treated sections, and secured with clips that are screwed in at the leading edge of each new board. Each new row of QuickCap is then pushed against the previously installed clips.

The finished deck repair project was essentially a new deck with long-lasting composite decking material for years of maintenance-free use. All at a fraction of the cost of using traditional composite decking.
