Earlier this summer, a couple had some unexpected excitement. As their grandson swung on a hammock under their deck, one of the posts shifted and sank about 8” into the ground.

The scope of this deck repair covered under-stair bracing to help limit lateral movement, as well as provide additional support for long stringers.

For a deck to be “to code,” the beam must rest on top of support posts. Replacing posts was the first step in improving the safety of this deck.
